Electrolysis
The only recognised method of permanent hair removal that involves the insertion of a probe into the hair follicle.
The Apilus Junior 3G provides several types of treatment methods:
Thermolysis - Also known as a shortwave, diathermy, High Frequency or Radio-Frequency.
This technique consists in applying a high-frequency current (13.56 MHz or 13.56 million cycles per second) that destroys germ cells responsible for hair regrowth. The advantage of Thermolysis is that it is a very rapid method.
TREATMENT DETAILS
Electrolysis - Galvanic (Direct current)
A chemical process which takes place when a direct current is applied.
This chemical action is not instantaneous but takes time to develop in the follicle it does not stop when the current ceases to be applied continues afterwards.
The amount of Lye produced depends upon:
- Moisture in the follicle - Reduced moisture means reduced sodium irons and therefore reduced Lye production.
- Intensity of current - more current intensity will provide more hydroxyl ions.
- Length of time - Lye production takes time and more is produced with extended passing of current. The current is available the whole length of the needle, but affects tissue only where moisture is available.
- Blend - The blend method combined electrolysis and Thermolysis giving the benefits of both the speed of the high frequency combined with the efficiency of the galvanic. The only method which is affective on deep or distorted follicles.
